Nalpamaradi Keram is prepared using the classical Sneha Kalpana method - a four-phase Ayurvedic oil preparation process. The herbs are first processed into a water-based decoction and a herb paste. These are then combined with the coconut oil base and slow-cooked over several hours until the water phase fully evaporates and the plant compounds transfer completely into the oil. Heat, time and classical endpoint markers - foam pattern, vessel sound, paste consistency - determine when the oil is ready. No shortcuts. No quick-blending.
Why this matters Every herb contains both water-soluble and oil-soluble compounds. A simple infused oil only captures one. Sneha Kalpana captures both.

Before first use - always patch test.
(Apply a small amount behind the ear or on the inner elbow. Wait 24–48 hours. If no redness or irritation appears, proceed with regular use)
Who should not use it: Anyone with a known allergy to turmeric (Curcuma longa) should not use this product. Turmeric is a primary ingredient and cannot be separated from the formulation.
For oily or acne-prone skin limit contact time to 10 minutes. Do not leave overnight on the face.
During pregnancy & postpartum Traditionally considered safe. Consult your doctor before adding any new product to your routine during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
Practical notes: Turmeric will stain fabric yellow. Wear old clothing during application and use a dedicated towel. Avoid contact with the eye area - turmeric stings on contact. 
In cooler weather the coconut oil base may solidify - warm the bottle between your palms before use.

Does it work on body skin or only the face?
Both. Apply to any sun-exposed area - face, neck, arms, elbows, knees, underarms. Use 5–7 drops for the face and up to 10–15ml for a full-body application.

Why does the oil stain yellow?
Curcumin - the active compound in turmeric has a strong natural pigment that does not dissolve easily in water. The colour washes off skin; it can persist on white fabrics. The staining is a sign of authentic turmeric content. Products that do not stain typically contain little to no curcumin.

Why pre-bath and not overnight?
The active ingredients complete their work on the skin surface within 20–30 minutes. Leaving the oil overnight does not increase benefit and increases the risk of fabric staining and pore congestion - particularly on the face in humid conditions. For body use, overnight application is possible with bedding protection.

Can it be used alongside my existing skincare?
Yes. Use Nalpamaradi pre-bath. Continue your regular morning skincare - cleanser, serum, moisturiser, sunscreen - as usual. Active ingredients complement this oil well as they work on different aspects of the skin's appearance. Consult your dermatologists if there is concern.

Ayurvedic Science
Pitta and the skin - Sun-related skin changes are linked to excess Pitta in Ayurveda. The Ficus barks, red sandalwood and vetiver are classically described as Sheeta virya - cooling in potency - directly addressing this.
